Dschinghis Khan - Moskau (Ретро FM Live)

If it were up to me, I'd make it compulsory for schools and madrasas to sing trashy 80's music, and not this.

How can you not love the sheer flamboyance of that?

Unrelated, since my browser doesn't seem to like your music. Re: the anonymous courtier who's made you famous, wonder whether he jetskis in boxers...or maybe he's just got vagina envy. And a teeny penis. And a webcam. And a fetish. And a backyard....

Now, this is getting creepy. I give up;-)

Nice. I don't remember how, but I had landed here a couple of months ago. Totally loved it, though did not understand a single word :(. And the blonde in the red dress is so awesomo! Their other 2 or 3 songs on Youtube are also good. I guess you speak German, so it must be even more fun.
In case you already don't know, is a pretty cool site for the 80's music.

nevermind, your browser's got bad taste.:p Oh yeah, the anonymous guy is probably EXACTLY like the backyard dude. Still, I like the anonymous guy. He made things interesting for a while. :)

Dodo, thanks for the club977 link!

Oh, and the video I linked is a 2005 version, it has most of the old members of the band, other than Louis Potgeiter, who died of AIDS in '93. Your Youtube link features Potgeiter, and is totally fucking awesome!

Unfortunately, Steve Bender, the bald guy, died in 2006. :(

Here's my own partial translation of the lyrics.

Moscow
Strange and full of secrets
With towers of red gold
Cold, like ice
Moscow
He who really knows you
Knows a fire burns within you

And the chorus,

Moscow, Moscow, throw your glasses to the walls
Russia is the most beautiful country
Ho ho ho ho ho
Moscow, Moscow
Your soul is so large
The devil's let loose here at night
Ha ha ha ha ha
Moscow, Moscow
Life tastes like caviar
Women are so kissable
Ho ho ho ho ho
Moscow, Moscow
Come, let's dance on the tables
Until they break
Ha ha ha ha ha.

That felt ridiculous, with all the ho ho hoing and the ha ha haing. :)

Have you heard Rammstein's Moskau? I just LOVE it.

Thanks for the translation, it becomes even more interesting now. I love the song because of the ho hoing and the ha haing :), so 80's. The bald guy totally creeps me out, I'd die to see him laugh. I haven't heard the Rammstein's version, will try to get hold of it.
And I'm pretty sure that I've heard this tune in a song by one of our 'talented' desi dudes.

Here's a really cool version of Rammstein's Moskau. It's different from Dschinghis Khan's song. This one describes Moscow as an aging but beautiful prostitute.

This one a live version.

Yes, it is very much different from Dschinghis Khan's song. I kinda liked the song though I'm not very much into hard rock/heavy metal.

You speak German? (Read that in German)
Rammstein is Industrial, not hard rock or heavy metal.
