Hmm. Why do I only update my blog when I have finals to study for?
Is this a widespread phenomenon? Or am I the only one afflicted? Why do you blog? Is it an attempt at procrastination? Or are you just an exhibitionist? Or is it both?
Does anyone know?
Politically Incorrect, my @$$!
ReplyDeleteI keep telling you to get the fuck off my site. The only rational explanation as to why you keep coming back is that you are TOTALLY in love with me.
ReplyDeleteYup things we all wonder about taking our first steps in the world of blogs. My two cents. Why would you even bother taking courses over the summers?
ReplyDeletewell for me its an escapist atttitude...I used to do everything that I wldnt otherwise during exam times..simply coz I didnt feel like studying!
ReplyDeleteRohan, summer's the only time I can do courses not related to my major. I think I'm coming to the point where I think people in academia aren't really intelligent, they're just scared of the big bad real world.
ReplyDeleteEkta, yeah. Me too. Most of us get to a point where we just TIRE of studying. I came to that point a long time ago, but refused to accept it until very recently.

ReplyDeleteI blog for myself. I don't have any illusions about the readership on my blog (which is pathetic), but yeah, it does spark some interesting discussions in the comments every now and then. Another reason could be that my blog is an outlet to spew my hate to the world, but thats a little negative way of looking at things.
ReplyDeleteYup, blogging can be fun. It's the non realtime version of chatting.
ReplyDeleteAnd as to readership, I'd rather have a few people with genuine comments than a zillion sycophants who tell me I'm doing a great job and should keep up the good work.
allo allo, its my first time here (thank rohan's blog for that)
ReplyDeletei can tell you for sure that i'm more inspired to blog when i've got exams coming up..its really messed up but that's just the way it is!
i personally think its a totally futile attempt at procrastination :(
Off late, I have found blog as a nice space to rant my thoughts and observe what people thing about similar issues..I also look at it as a tool which tries to preserve my modest writing skills...
ReplyDeleteHaving said that, it is also an addiction...
Coz during exam time we want to do everything but studying...and those are the times we realise how tired, hungry, sleepy etc etc we are..;-)
ReplyDeleteWelcome to my blog, Mahi.
ReplyDeleteAnd about the exam thing, I hear you loud and clear!
point5, blogging is the right thing. If you do this well into old age, you might just end up preventing Alzheimer's disease..
anand, I'm SO glad I'm not the only one who does that!:)
The same reason we'd really love streak at a world cup game.
ReplyDeleteOk, wrong example... but we all have an exhibitionist streak.
I guess it's both. But another reason I blog is because I can look at it after years from now and remember stuff that I would have otherwise not remembered. Also, it is a good venting machine.
ReplyDeleteUrban, he men I've seen streak at the World Cup are usually fat. Double gross!
ReplyDelete..., I should try looking back years from now. But my blog's less than a month old, so I'll have to wait a while:)
Blogs are good for sex.
ReplyDeleteMental and with one's own self.
I wonder if that makes sense to anyone..
And conversely, sex is good for blogs too. Makes for a more interesting read. :)
ReplyDeleteSex is a boring subject, on or off blogs.
ReplyDelete30 different positions and techniques and there isn't much left to it.
My, err, verbal cipher? was meant in a totally different direction :)
And I attempted to steer it back. :)
ReplyDeleteSure, but what is "back"? :P
ReplyDeleteerr where*
